Le rêve jusque-là inavoué d’Etienne MBAPPÉ, de réaliser un Album Country – Folk, musique qu’il affectionne particulièrement, en y introduisant des ingrédients colorés et épicés de son Afrique natale. Un projet musical aux sonorités calmes et apaisantes, douces et enveloppantes, rassurantes et réconfortantes. Une réflexion et une écriture qui s’éloignent de l’agitation urbaine tonitruante et frénétique, pour explorer en dehors.
Une approche en profondeur pour faire résonner les arpèges et autres balayages cristallins des guitares acoustiques aux cordes en acier, qui sont la base de l’instrumentation Country – Folk.
Quelques notes au piano, un violon tour à tour à l’archet ou en pizzicatos délicats, une basse ronde et sobre, quelques éléments percussifs pour soutenir les voix.
«COUNTRY – SIDE », une invisible passerelle au-dessus de l’océan Atlantique, qui relie les rythmiques secrètes africaines à la musique Country - Folk américaine. Deux mondes qui vont s’entrelacer dans des danses occultes, aux mouvements circulaires. Voix captivantes et mélodies envoûtantes aux accents vernaculaires.

Etienne MBAPPÉ's hitherto unacknowledged dream was to produce a Country-Folk album, a music he particularly loves, introducing colorful, spicy ingredients from his native Africa. A musical project with calm, soothing tones, soft and enveloping, reassuring and comforting. A way of thinking and writing that moves away from the thundering, frenetic urban hustle and bustle, to explore beyond.
An in-depth approach to resonating arpeggios and other crystalline sweeps of steel-stringed acoustic guitars, the basis of the Country-Folk instrumentation.
A few notes on the piano, a violin alternately bowed or delicately pizzicatoed, a round, sober bass, a few percussive elements to support the vocals.
