Qui aurait cru qu’Etienne Mbappé avait un rêve inavoué, celui d’un Album Country – Folk ? Musique qu’il affectionne particulièrement, c’est le projet qu’il décide de faire grandir au Baiser Salé tout au long de sa #CarteBlanche et de révéler au public courant 2025. En y introduisant des ingrédients colorés et épicés de son Afrique natale, Etienne nous promet un voyage aux sonorités calmes et apaisantes, douces et enveloppantes, rassurantes et réconfortantes, qui nous éloigne le temps d’un concert de l’agitation urbaine tonitruante et frénétique, pour explorer en dehors.
Une approche en profondeur pour faire résonner les arpèges et autres balayages cristallins des guitares acoustiques aux cordes en acier, qui sont la base de l’instrumentation Country – Folk.
Quelques notes au piano, un violon tour à tour à l’archet ou en pizzicatos délicats, une basse ronde et sobre, quelques éléments percussifs pour soutenir les voix, échangeant des fulgurances avec la guitare, le violoncelle ou la mandoline. C’est en trio que la magie opère.
« COUNTRY – SIDE », une invisible passerelle au-dessus de l’océan Atlantique, qui relie les rythmiques secrètes africaines à la musique Country - Folk américaine. Deux mondes qui vont s’entrelacer dans des danses occultes, aux mouvements circulaires. Voix captivantes et mélodies envoûtantes aux accents vernaculaires.

Who would have thought that Etienne Mbappé had an unspoken dream, that of a Country - Folk Album?


A music he is particularly fond of, this is the project he has decided to develop at Le Baiser Salé throughout his #CarteBlanche and reveal to the public during 2025. By introducing colorful and spicy ingredients from his native Africa, Etienne promises us a journey of calm and soothing, gentle and enveloping, reassuring and comforting sounds, taking us away from the thundering, frenetic urban bustle for the duration of a concert, to explore outside.
An in-depth approach to resonating arpeggios and other crystalline sweeps of steel-string acoustic guitars, the basis of the Country-Folk instrumentation.
A few notes on the piano, a violin alternately bowed or delicately pizzicatoed, a round, sober bass, a few percussive elements to support the vocals, exchanging flashes with the guitar, cello or mandolin. It's in trio that the magic happens.
