Discover the amazing art of Kaiji Kawaguchi! This exhibit showcases his work from Japan to the world for the very first time outside of Japan. Explore more than fifty years of his art with over one hundred original and reproduced panels.
Kaiji Kawaguchi, born in 1948 in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture, is one of Japan's most eminent manga artists. His famous works like Chinmoku no kantai, Zipang, Taiyô no mokushiroku, and Kûbo Ibuki blend Japan's history with global tensions.
Kawaguchi fell in love with drawing as a kid, inspired by gekiga and movies. His stories dive into Japan's past, capturing people caught in historical storms. This exhibit carefully follows his fifty-year journey, featuring a handpicked selection of over one hundred original and reproduced panels. It will be held in two different locations because of its size.
