* FLOOR EXPOSURE :
This floor class will propose playful bondages, all with the common goal of exposing the bound person. It will leave room for creativity, so that each pair can find a way of exposing the other to create reactions. (What may be exposing/intimidating for one person may not be so for another...).
This course will provide tools and ideas for finding one's own interpretation of what exposure in the ropes can create in both partners: embarrassment, vulnerability, shame, sharing intimacy etc...
This class will also provide an opportunity to discuss the play dynamics that can be created by this kind of bondage, and the reactions and emotions generated.
For a long time, the most popular shibari photos were those of people of female gender expression (whose bodies meet the beauty criteria of hetero-patriarchal society) being tied up by people of male gender expression. For some years now, diversified representations have been put forward, and the practice is tending to become less stereotyped!
Bänana and their partner do their best to create a class where everyone, whatever their gender, expressions, and whatever the dynamics of their relationship with their partner, can feel welcome.
* BÄNANA (she / her) : Bänana, a ten-year bondage enthusiast, found her passion in shibari in 2017, drawn to its raw and authentic nature. As she has always been fascinated by the expression of emotions, shibari, and more specifically semenawa has opened up a new path of exploration to her. She began to follow Docvale’s teaching in November 2018, later partnering with him to co- manage Atelier Simonet in Paris until summer 2023. Bänana considers that in order to tie well, we must understand each of our technical choices rather than learning the instructions by heart. She gives to her students a solid grounding so they can feel free while tying and put these technical abilities at the service of the relationship with their partners.
Being in ropes is also something to be apprehended. Not that you have to behave in any particular way. On the contrary, every tied-up person has to find the way that pleases him or her. It's also a long journey full of questions and emotions, and it seems important to Bänana that all this is taken into account during her courses. Bänana's courses are so often highly interactive, with the idea that everyone should have a place to ask questions and express their experiences and feedback in order to grow together in this practice.
Bänana created La Cabäne during winter 2024.
* Bänana's partner will be anounced.
What level is required?
Riggers must at least master single column tie, double column tie, counter tension and X friction. No experience is required for person being tied. Communication being a central element in shibari it is always preferable to come with a partner with whom you already practice in order to allow a good experience. It's important to have already discussed the framework of your practice (desires, intentions, limits, ways of managing consent).
What equipment do I need?
A minimum of 6 jute ropes (or hemp eventually), ideally 6mm in diameter and averaging 7-8 meters in lenght will be required.e
What is the cancellation policy?
If you cancel more than 2 weeks in advance, we will refund your ticket. If you cancel later, we will try to resell your ticket. If this is not possible, we will not be able to reimburse you.
