➡️ Completion by Robert Levin
When Mozart passed away on the morning of December 5, 1791, he left his masterpiece, the Requiem, unfinished.

➡️ Less than three months later, a complete score was delivered to its "anonymous" commissioner. This masterpiece has intrigued musicians for over two centuries. ⏳

In 1960, musicologist Wolfgang Plath uncovered previously unknown sketches of the Requiem in a collection of Mozart's manuscripts in Berlin. ✍️ These “scraps of paper” given to Süssmayr by Constanze had not been used.

⚠️ The most important of these sketches suggested that Mozart intended to finish the Lacrimosa with a fugue on the word “Amen.” This was the clue Harvard musicologist Robert Levin needed for his own contribution to this masterpiece’s mystery.

✨ With this inspired and historically precise completion, Dr. Levin has offered a potential solution to the puzzle left by Mozart over two centuries ago.
